Teen Parents is the place to be! Fun and Free groups twice a month with food, fun, crafts, games, and great information about you and your baby. Child care and rides are provided! Other classes, trips, and events, too!

FIRST (Families in Recovery Stay Together)
Provides free services and referrals in order to ensure all basic needs are met. We work on goals set by clients and aim at teaching independence and empowerment.
Common issues include but are not limited to:
-Abstaining from substances
-Individual counseling for issues in addiction -Maintaining/Retaining custody of children -Parenting education -Medical care -Housing -Educational/Employment needs -Financial issues -Childcare resources -Skill building: communication, problem-solving, assertiveness, conflict resolution and decision-making
The program is open to Schenectady county residents of any age who are pregnant or parenting a child under age 18, who wish to abstain from drugs/alcohol.

TLC (Talking, Listening, Caring Program)
A free and confidential comprehensive case management program for pregnant and parenting adolescents (to age 21) and their families. We work on goals identified by the client and encourage growth in independence, empowerment and self-sufficiency.

-Housing
-Medical care
-Parenting
-Mental Health needs
-Financial issues
-Child care resources

Just For Teens
(Albany Teen Clinic) S.T. A. R. S... Which stands for Seriously Talking About Responsible Sex is a program that provides free and low cost health care to eligible teens. STARS members are invited to attend STARS sponsored social events for free, and receive copies of the STARS newsletter, written by and for teen. Peer Educators are hire to learn about sexuality and pregnancy prevention, attend special events, and educate their peers.
Teen Choices...is a fun after-school self-esteem program for 7th and 8th grade girls living in Albany and Hudson.
Y.E.S...Youth Empowerment Services is a free service for Albany City teens needing counseling, case management and support.

The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy
The National Campaign seeks to improve the well-being of children, youth, families, and the nation by preventing unplanned and teen pregnancy.
Established in 1980 as the Center for Population Options, Advocates for Youth champions efforts that help young people make informed and responsible decisions about their reproductive and sexual health. Advocates believes it can best serve the field by boldly advocating for a more positive and realistic approach to adolescent sexual health. Advocates focuses its work on young people ages 14-25 in the U.S. and around the globe.
